In Focus Festival – Logo & Visual Identity

Project Overview
Commissioned to develop the visual identity for In Focus Festival—a youth-led arts event originally named Happy Place Festival—this project began with playful explorations of light, optimism, and collective energy. Early concepts drew on ideas of sunshine and emotional warmth, gradually evolving into character-driven forms that embodied the festival’s spirit of creativity, inclusivity, and joy.

Design Development
As the design process deepened, attention turned to the community itself. Inspiration was taken from a physical structure created by a local youth group, using their design as the conceptual anchor for the visual identity. This approach embedded their contribution directly into the logo, transforming it into a mark that felt lived-in and participatory—an identity that grew from the same hands and imaginations it represents.

Implementation
The final logo and design system strike a balance between youthful vibrancy and visual cohesion. The identity captures the pulse of collaboration and creativity that defines In Focus Festival, grounding its aesthetic in community connection and the dynamic voices of young people at its core.

RE.MARK - VISUAL IDENTITY

Re.Mark – Brand Identity and Design â€‹

Project Overview
re.mark marks the rebrand of The Upcycled Collection, evolving from a period of experimentation into a more defined and grounded identity. Developed in collaboration with Age UK, the project aligns with the charity’s brand guidelines while carving out space for creative reinterpretation.

Design Approach
Using the FS ME typeface as a foundation, the logo distorts and reimagines familiar forms to honour both the legacy of Age UK and the innovative ethos of re.mark. A hazy halftone effect introduces a tactile nod to print media, bridging nostalgia and modernity—echoing the brand’s focus on regeneration, sustainability, and renewal.

Incorporating fast-forward and rewind symbols evokes the language of memory and time, connecting past ideals with contemporary relevance. The encompassing circle reinforces re.mark’s cyclical values, forming a cohesive and resonant visual identity rooted in continuity and care.

The Upcycled Collection

As the foundation for re.mark, The Upcycled Collection explored collage and custom typography as tools for transformation. Its adaptable visual system embodied experimentation and sustainability, evolving with each iteration to reflect the brand’s spirit of reinvention.

NAILS BY MAISE

Nails by Masie – Logo & Visual Identity

Project Overview
The client, Nails by Maisie, sought a visual identity that balanced classic elegance with a sense of modern femininity. Drawing inspiration from the Art Nouveau era, a bespoke typeface was hand-designed to capture the flowing, illustrative quality of early twentieth-century letterforms while maintaining a refined contemporary feel.

Design Elements
The logo, formed from the client’s initials M.W., creates a distinctive and personal brand mark. A palette of soft pink tones introduces warmth and modernity, complementing the brand’s refined aesthetic. Together, these elements evoke a timeless sophistication that feels both crafted and current.

Implementation
The identity extends across all touchpoints—from social media to loyalty cards—ensuring a consistent and recognisable presence. The result is a cohesive brand that embodies the client’s vision: elegant, personal, and enduring.
